• A national research university with nearly 17,000 students worked with Zensar to implement Extreme Networks’ switching products to deliver network access throughout their three campuses encompassing 3 million square feet and 125 acres. The university was challenged with an aging network that needed to be replaced due to end of life hardware, and they were seeking a hardware platform that did not need constant upgrades on a regular basis to support new releases and new features. Extreme’s high-end Black Diamond Layer 3 switches interconnect the three campus cores over 10GB and 40GB fiber links, and Summit series switches are utilized for end-user access. The Extreme solution provides the university with a value-add benefit as it uses a single operating system (XOS) for ease of administration and trouble shooting of the 300-switch network.
• A global cloud based application provider with business dependent on 100 percent network uptime turned to Zensar and Extreme Networks when they needed to reinforce their network and replace outdated equipment to promote reliability for its mission critical business offering. The client started by upgrading one data center with Extreme Summit series switches that enable improved uptime, manageability and operational efficiency. The client needed to be able to move to a 100% uptime data center model and leveraged Extreme’s Multi-Switch Link Aggregation (M-LAG) capabilities. In addition to the critical need for full availability, the client realized flexibility to implement non-blocking networks; no wasted bandwidth as both links are active; and high levels of resilience and reliability with redundant paths available at all times.
