Pune: Zensar Technologies NSE 4.62 % Ltd. has signed a four-year contract with the City of San Diego to provide workplace and enterprise management solutions, with an option to extend the tie-up by two, two-year terms provided the total deal value doesn’t exceed $122 million.
The Indian IT services firm will provide support for more than 1,000 servers and associated storage and software that host over 300 city application systems of San Diego. It will also set up a new public cloud, which will support the local government’s call centres, disaster recovery capabilities and data storage with enhanced cybersecurity.
“Zensar firmly believes that tech should primarily serve human needs, and has invested in bringing together the human experience, engineering, data and cloud to deliver solutions which power smart cities and high-velocity enterprises,” CEO Ajay S. Bhutoria said.
The new contract is an extension of a partnership that’s been in place since 2018.
“The partnership with Zensar will ensure the City of San Diego is transparent and accountable in its IT platform while enhancing security—all at a lower cost for taxpayers. This agreement is a key step toward supporting, modernising, and enhancing our ever-growing portfolio of digitised services," Mayor Todd Gloria said. “We look forward to working with Zensar on several new projects to help enhance and improve the City’s data center as well as ensure that all of the 11,000-plus city employees have the right tools to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively.”
Zensar will also expand its support to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education for youth by investing in programmes in the San Diego region, as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative.
