News | 5 Apr 2018
BENGALURU: RPG Group-owned Zensar Technologies has bagged $79 million deal to provide telecom and other network support services to City of San Diego. The company said the four-year service contract from the one of the largest US cities has the option of extension of two additional two-year terms with maximum value worth $79 million.
Sandeep Kishore, chief executive officer and managing director, Zensar, said he has seen a surge in deals worth more than $25 million among the mid-tier IT services firms and this is one of such deal.
“The number of large deals is trending up. We are seeing moderate uptick into the $25 million plus deals. And this is a net new account for us. We are delivering all of this from the US. We will be needing 45 people from San Diego and Dallas and the data centre is located in Dallas,” said Kishore in a telephonic interview.
Zensar, which has worked on multiple projects on enhancements and upgrades of customer’s network data and voice environments, will provide services to modernize San Diego’s network and replace the existing technology infrastructure with a digital one
A team of 45 Zensar employees will work on the project. Kishore said a majority of them are hired locally. The company has also partnered with a local firm called IMG Networks in San Diego to ensure the last mile service for networking support.
“This partnership aims to make the City of San Diego more transparent and accountable while enhancing security – all at a lower cost for taxpayers,” Mayor Kevin Faulconer, was quoted in a statement.
