Westborough's Akibia Changes Name

Westborough-based infrastructure management services firm Akibia Inc. has changed its name to match that of an Indian company that acquired it in 2010 The company will be called Zensar Technologies. Akibia said it hired several executives to grow the business, including Vivek Gupta, chief executive of global infrastructure management business, and Doug Fallon, vice president of U.S. sales. Gupta has been with the company for 27 years and is credited with growing its UK business to a European-wide operation.
The Akibia business has generated about a third of Zensar's revenue, and Gupta said in a statement that he expects further growth in the subsidiary to drive Zensar to the $1-billion mark in 2017. "Over the last two quarters, we have signed several large (infrastructure management services) contracts, including a multi-year total infrastructure outsourcing deal in which Zensar will provide one of our leading telecommunications clients with data center hosting, infrastructure and application services," Gupta said.
