Building a resilient enterprise through integrated risk management

Zensar’s Risk Management Policy establishes a structured enterprise risk management (ERM) framework to identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report risks across the organization. The approach aligns risk management with strategic objectives, supports informed decision-making, promotes risk ownership and awareness, and helps ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Strengthening risk governance across the organization

A multi-level governance structure enables effective risk oversight across the enterprise, business units, functions, and regions. The risk management committee, executive management, internal audit, the Chief Risk Officer, risk owners, and risk champions have defined responsibilities for prioritizing risks, reviewing controls, implementing mitigation measures, monitoring progress, and identifying emerging risks.

Managing risks through a structured ERM lifecycle

The ERM lifecycle combines risk identification and evaluation, governance, mitigation and response, and continuous reporting and monitoring. Risks are identified through stakeholder discussions, workshops, industry developments, market conditions, geopolitical situations, and evolving business priorities. The organization then monitors mitigation plans through defined KPIs and periodic management reviews.

Addressing enterprise-wide and emerging risks

The framework covers five key risk categories: strategic, operational, compliance and regulatory, financial, and ESG. A multi-layered risk register evaluates risks by potential impact and probability, enabling severity classification and supporting the development of appropriate mitigation plans. The organization also assesses emerging and circumstantial risks to respond to evolving business and industry conditions.

Monitoring risk appetite and management performance

Zensar’s risk appetite framework considers risk profile, capacity, tolerance, and residual risk when balancing threats and opportunities against business objectives. We establish qualitative and quantitative targets for relevant KPIs, and regular reviews evaluate mitigation effectiveness, residual risk, and progress toward agreed objectives.

Embedding risk awareness and continuous governance

The organization promotes risk awareness across the enterprise, functional, and project levels through regular risk identification exercises, stakeholder engagement, and strategic discussions. The policy is periodically reviewed to ensure it remains relevant to evolving industry dynamics, regulatory requirements, and business complexity, supporting a consistent and continually evolving approach to enterprise risk management.
