MIGRATION OF ORACLE DATABASE ON-PREMISES TO AWS RDS

Cloud Computing is one of the fastest growing internet based computing service in the Information Technology (IT) world today. The objective of this on demand service is to deliver scalable computer processing power and data to customers. This allows a customer to store their data remotely on a cloud based server without the need to maintain and monitor an IT infrastructure locally. This simplicity has resulted in the rapid growth of Cloud Computing services. Concurrently, this has led to an increase in the need to maintain customer data stored in databases on the cloud servers.Currently, AWS (Amazon Web Services) is one of biggest Cloud Computing service that provides a broad set of products and services that a customer can choose to host and maintain databases remotely. This paper discusses one method of migrating the database from On-Premises database instance to the AWS RDS database instance.
