New approach to combat Influenza H1N1 panicPune, Aug 14th 2009With the growing flu scare across the city, Zensar Technologies the leading global IT and BPO services provider has taken a unique initiative to deal with this crisis and has made available a wellness meditation module to help citizens stay healthy and prevent the spread of Influenza H1N1. This module which focuses on calming the mind and emotions has been specifically designed by spiritual leader and modern day sage Nithya Shanti. The city has seen a surge of Influenza H1N1 (Swine Flu) cases being reported in the past one week ever since the first case was reported three months ago. Zensar has implemented a number of measures and is constantly educating all associates across the globe on prevention and protection from the disease. In addition to this, the Company has also requested all associates to undergo a medical check-up once they are back from the affected areas. Nithya Shanti studied business management at XLRI and then worked in the field of Human Resources and Corporate Strategy, before deciding to be a Buddhist Monk and a spiritual leader. He underwent rigorous monastic training living with meditation masters in remote forests across South East Asia for over six years. He is an inspirational speaker, writer, happiness coach, integral healer and educator and is committed to sharing transformational principles and practices for everyday happiness. He has taught at Columbia University (New York), coached CEOs, taught meditation to psychiatrists, and has been featured in leading publications and radio shows in India and abroad. Discussing this initiative, Dr.Ganesh Natarajan- Vice Chairman and CEO, Zensar Technologies Ltd said, “In tough times such as these, when Government bodies and other Municipal authorities are struggling to contain the situation, it is corporates, organisations and individuals who should step forward and help. This brief module based on timeless principles of mediation will help restore peace in the minds of many who are in a state of constant fear.” While speaking about the need to have such meditation modules Nithya Shanti says, “Stress suppresses our immune system and lowers our body’s resistance to diseases. When we are calm and feel secure, our body’s immunity is enhanced. When we live consciously, we balance the physical, energy, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and social dimensions of life. We learn to live in harmony with the natural principles of the Universe.” Pune’s renowned vocalist Sonali Bhatewara, and accomplished healer Sangeeta Bhagwat have contributed to this project. This ten minute video module called “Connecting to Inner Strength” is available on the Zensar website (www.zensar.com) and Nithya Shanti’s website (http://www.lovingsilence.org), and the English, Hindi and Marathi version will be available on Goggle Video and Youtube.com and other social networking sites for all.
