Zensar Technologies Q2 net rises 104%

Pune: Software services company Zensar Technologies announced on Tuesday a 104 per cent higher net income in the July-September quarter of 2009-10 at Rs 37.90 crore as compared with the corresponding quarter in previous year (2008-09).

A press release said the revenues for the quarter on a consolidated basis were Rs 251.17 crore, 8 per cent higher than the revenues in the same quarter previous year and 10 per cent higher than the immediately preceding quarter. The company has added 24 new customers to its portfolio in the second quarter, the statement said.

Ganesh Natarajan, vice chairman and MD, Zensar said, “A strategy of risk mitigation across geographies, vertical domains and service lines that we have pursued over the years has enabled us to deliver the results. We are confident Zensar’s success will continue in the future.”

“Emerging markets of India, South Africa and continental Europe continue to be the drivers of new business for the company and with a number of customers ready now to move offshore which is a significant trend for the company,” the company statement said.

Zensar chief financial officer S Balasubramaniam said “We had committed to cross Rs 100 crores profit after taxes (PAT) this year and we are well on our way to exceed this number and build a solid foundation for growth in the coming years.”
