Jetstar signs up Zensar for IT solutions

Date: 27/08/2009| Times of India

Pune: Global information technology (IT) and business process outsourcing (BPO) services provider Zensar Technologies has announced the successful delivery of application development and support and BPO services to Jetstar Airways.

The deal marks a step in Zensar’s approach of providing impact sourcing service to clients, which has been specially designed to enable significant reduction of technology and process costs for recession hit sectors and firms, a company statement said on Wednesday.

Jetstar, which is the low cost airline arm of airline major Qantas, has been showing sustained accelerated business growth since its launch in 2004 and recently announced a record profit before tax of AUD 137 million a growth of 18 per cent over the previous year. The company has also emerged as the second largest international carrier serving the Australian market after Qantas in terms of passengers carried.

Jetstar’s partnership with Zensar is focused to deliver high quality IT services to its business and leverage IT best practices with a strict Service Level Agreement management system to achieve quantifiable operational and financial improvements and enhance the delivery of services to its customers.

Ganesh Natarajan, vice chairman and managing director of Zensar told TOI that the deal is a major foot-in-the door break for the company as Jetstar is performing strongly and planning to go international. Success with Jetstar will work like Zensar’s calling card for other geographies including India.
