In The SpotlightZensar to expand Global Delivery Network11-06-2009, The Hindu Business LinePune-based IT and BPO services provider Zensar Technologies is looking to expand its delivery network across the world in the next two years. The company intends to set p operation in Singapore by the end of the year, which initially would house between 100 to 150 people, said Ganesh Natarajan, Vice-Chairman and CEO.” Zensar plans to have two delivery centres with 200 people in South Africa this year, and its Bhubaneshwar operations would also become operational by year-end, Natarajan added. A centre in either Canada or Latin America and another one in either Germany or Switzerland are also on the cards by next year. Natarajan said there has been some uptake in client demand. He said it is important to have a global delivery model as it opens us new business opportunities. There are some clients that prefer work to be done within the country he added. Industry experts at the Nasscom BPO Strategy Summit 2009 said BPO companies would have to expand their delivery footprint to sustain their businesses in the future. Pramod Bhasin, Chairman, Nasscom, has said the concepts of offshore and onshore would become obsolete and work would be delivered from a geography that is best suited. Zensar currently has over 3,000 professionals working in Pune. It has development centres in Hyderabad in India, Slough in UK, San Jose in USA and Gdansk in Poland which are fully functional and have over 1,000 professionals working out of these centres. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
