The Customer

The Client is a leading specialty retailer of fashionable and contemporary apparel and accessory items. The company operates a total of 504 stores in 47 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, including 424 Wet Seal stores and 80 Arden B stores. Wet Seal sells apparel and accessory items, primarily, for female customers


The Business Challenge

  • Data migration from Oracle Retail version 8 to version 13 for 500 stores in 3 days
  • Critical documentation on version 8 customizations missing. This documentation was required for upgrading to version 13
  • Additional functionality of the base product making customizations in RPM essential
  • Integration with third-party and legacy systems

Solution

The customizations done to the version 8 implementation of the Retail solution were not available. Hence, Zensar did a thorough review and health-check of the system before the start of the upgrade. The customization required in RPM for adding functionality was not available in the base product. Zensar team made fifteen customizations for PO entry, reporting, receiving etc. Twenty five of the existing forms were modified and twenty three new forms were imported from version 8 into the upgraded version to meet Wet Seal’s business needs.
