Health has been identified as a primary objective in the community development process. As part of the healthcare initiatives, weekly clinics, counseling sessions, health camps are regularly held to promote general health and well-being in the community. The health perils in the community are numerous and in order to treat some minor ailments and casualties, community members have been identified and are being trained to treat minor ailments.
The clinic has over 15 patients visiting it every week. Besides this, we also run HIV/ AIDS awareness programmes in and around the community through our association with an NGO called Project Concern International (PCI). This long standing association has been yielding substantial results with over 15000 students being trained of HIV.AIDS and its perils. In addition to this, we also run an awareness programme which caters to over 50 students in their adolescence. Under the programme, students are not only educated but encouraged to take up HIV tests and are assessed based on their sexual behavior. Furthermore, the health programmes undertaken include supplementary nutrition programmes for adolescent girls in the community and in private schools and colleges and medical camps.
